Introduction to Machine Learning

These days  wherever you go or whatever you use, there is a slightest hint of "Machine Learning" invloved and you definitely wonder what in the Earth do "Machine Learning" mean. Machine learning is a very interesting topic and once when you're into it, there's no going back, you're gonna just want more of that. Machine learning just exists everywhere,  every recommendation you receive on any popular platform, there has to some machine learning algorithms involved in it. Actual Definition- Machine learning is the study of computer algorithms where the machine is trained to improve automatically through experience and from the knowledge of data. In simple words, you instruct the machine with codes to learn something and it can replicate what it learned. It can improvise over data and efficient algorithms. Generally machine learning involves a lot of mathematics and hell load of data.   Machine learning is a part of our life even without knowing that it eve...

How to stop sleeping in class?

All the classes have been shifted to online mode since the pandemic began and most of the students have adapted to the same. I don’t think all the students do sincerely listen to all of the classes being taught. Home is a very comfortable place to do all things such as sleeping and snacking. Sleeping is a natural thing which can happen to anyone and anywhere. So, the Covid has been steadily decreasing and the educational institutions have begun to re-open. Students have happily turned to schools and colleges hoping to attend uninterrupted classes. But the problem with the students is that they have over adapted to the online mode and fall asleep during the class hours.

Falling asleep during class hours is very common for students. But the students want to be attentive during the classes and want to control their sleep during class. Thankfully I could offer some solutions to avoid falling asleep during class hours.

1.  Eat healthy food-

Eating healthy food can boost your energy and mind. Have your breakfast and dinner on time to balance your body. The human body adapts to whatever time you have your food and expects to have food at the time the body has been conditioned. So, when you don’t have your food on time, the body goes to a stage where it cannot do anything which might result in sleeping. To avoid this, don’t skip your meals or don’t have your meals at the wrong time. Try to include more protein rich food throughout the day.

2. Get enough sleep everyday-

Getting enough sleep is equally important as eating healthy food. Lack of sleep is one of the common problems in most of the youngsters. I’d recommend seven to eight hours sleep for a school student and a minimum of six hours sleep for a college student. It doesn’t matter when you sleep or wake up, just make sure you sleep enough. If you don’t sleep enough, the body will just get more tired and will make you fall asleep during class hours.

3.  Try to participate-

Generally, lectures and classes are meant to be interactive and it is not so interactive post-covid. Participating in any event or any conversation might stop you from dozing off. When you talk, you might unknowingly wake up entirely. Moving your muscles during a class hour may not be possible, but writing is a good practice to keep you engaging and not sleep. Raising your hands and participating is a good option too. Don’t sit in the same seat and be idle. Change your seats frequently, try and get a seat where you can feel the natural light.

4. Drink cold water-

Stay Hydrated during all day and keep a bottle of cold water. If you feel sleepy, go find yourselves a bathroom and splash a handful of cold water to your face. The sleepiness might leave and you could stay fresh.

5.  Breathe-

You always breathe but breathe deeper whenever you feel sleepy. Deep breathing is another option of staying awake since it can raise the oxygen level in your blood. The circulation of blood is increased and lowers blood pressure.

6. Others-

Chewing gum is also a good option to keep you awake but you have to check with your classroom guidelines if you can chew gum or not. Drawing doodles and scribbling in your notebook might wake your brain and make sure you concentrate on your classes too. Try to move your body often to stay awake. If you cannot control your sleep, find yourselves a place to take a nap during break time, not during class hours. Have caffeine if you get a chance. Caffeine boosts your brain.

It is important that you get enough sleep during the night and concentrate on your education during class hours. Try not to sleep and stay active throughout the session. But if you fall asleep consistently during the class hours, you might need to consult a doctor about the condition. Concentrate on the class and make the most out of it.
